Low cost ARM M0+ with CAN

I for one is always looking for low cost chips with CAN and I guess lower than the price for Texas Instruments MSPM0G3505 and MSPM0G3506 it will not be.

https://www.ti.com/microcontrollers-mcus-processors/arm-based-microcontrollers/arm-cortex-m0-mcus/products.html#p2192=CAN

I which ST also followed this trend. They have similar low cost but not with CAN afaik.

Some Droplet tests

  • 345 max size frames /second (219 bytes payload). ~30 ms per frame.
  • ~ 640kbps encrypted with AES128.

A standard VSCP frame has payload that is much lower so we talk 10 ms per frame.

Droplet firmware update

Just a local file firmware update on an Droplet Alpha node. There are two ways to update firmware. From a web server or by uploading a file from the local disk.

Beta and Gamma nodes can be updated over the Droplet protocol. No wifi involved.
