We have several  heavy forest fires here in our area in the middle of Sweden at the moment due to a long period of dry weather.  Several villages are at risk and people are evacuating.  But as usual in a crisis the good in people also becomes visible when things like this happens. People donate food  to the firefighters in large amounts and help in other ways. Also we have two Italian teams flying with water bombers right now and a French team of two water bombers on the way during the day. International solidarity at it’s best.

A big thanks to the Italian and French people for your help is in place.

Edit: I hear that we have help from Noway as well so a thanks is in place to Norway to.

Edit2: And Germany support with a bunch ofg helicopters I hear. Thanks a lot for your help.

in the Swedish innovation system, there is a lot of investment in innovation inputs, but these are not transformed into innovation outputs. This is not high performance. Such inefficiencies should be the point of departure for the design of innovation policy in Sweden – not the widespread SII-based misbelief that Sweden is number 1 in terms of innovation performance in the EU.
