As most small companies we have a few choices when it comes to producing our products.<\/p>\n

1.) \u00a0We can solder and mount components in-house. \u00a0This is time consuming as the pick-and-place step takes time but with a solder paste stencil and a reflow oven it is workable. We can do series of up \u00a0to 100 boards this way. \u00a0We usually have \u00a0six boards on a panel like this.<\/p>\n

2.) We can produce and mount the boards in China. For a card like the one above we pay $1-2 for mounting so this service has a nice price. \u00a0With small series we have to pay a higher BOM cost then we do when me mount them ourselves as we then can buy more components as many of them are the same over several boards. \u00a0The big drawback is that we tie up money on boards that sit on the shelf.<\/p>\n

3.) The possibility to buy your own production equipment has been far away for small companies for a long time. \u00a0Stencil printers and reflow ovens, as the one we have today is available since some time \u00a0but now also a pick an place machine is available at a good price. It is this one<\/p>\n
