There are Davids and there are Goliaths of the world. We know what category the VSCP project belongs to. During the fourteen years of VSCP’s existence we have seen many Goliaths come and go. Yes, most people support the Goliaths of the world without any further thought, after all they have the money, the strength and the power to reach out to the world. But as any intelligent man and woman knows, who think beyond the obvious and simple, it is not always the big and colorful flowers that are the most beautiful. If you take the time to look closer you will find more beautiful things hidden in the grass. You just have to put some more effort into it and not get blinded by the obvious.
No a project like VSCP will never win over the Goliaths of the world. At least unless people care to look beyond the obvious. If you are one of those people vote for the VSCP project.
The verbose mode of the Frankfurt RS-232 CAN4VSCP adapter makes it easy to diagnose a CAN4VSCP bus without any other tools other than the adapter and a terminal program. Registers can be read/written on remote nodes, the interfaces opened in listen, normal and loopback mode and you can even search nodes on the bus. And in addition to the loopback mode there is the CAN4VSCP driver mode which works with the VSCP Daemon and VSCP Works and SLCAN mode which works with SocketCan on Linux.
A Kelvin NTC 10K node and a Paris node sitting on a DIN rail on a desk in the lab. But why does that red LED blink?
Sometimes (not very often) we get donations and sponsoring to the VSCP & Friends project. Yesterday was one of those days when a person unknown to me from Slovenia sponsored the project. To me, who have spent more hours then is possible to count on this project, this is proof that there is true kindness in the world. And every such donations therefore not just helps the project but also warms my heart.
