Abstract
Roma is a Wireless 433MHz tranceiver module that interface can listen and talk
to different wireless remote devices using 433 MHz such as Nexa etc.
The module can be attached to a standard DIN Rail or be mounted directly on a wall (ordered separatly).
The module fully adopts to the CAN4VSCP specification and can be powered directly
over the unused pairs of a standard CAT5 wire with a 12-50V DC power source. It has
a rich register set for configuration and any information events defined. It also have a decison matrix for
easy dynamic event handling.
VSCP Ethernet modules communicate directly over the Ethernet protocol. This means
there is no need to set communication parameters such as ip address, mask, gateway
etc before it can be used. Just connect the
module and attach power and it will be active and working. As with all Ethernet
units a cable of 90 meters maximum can be used. Some of our ethernet modules also
have TCP/IP. Parameters for TCP/IP can be setup over Ethernet or discoverd using DHCP.
TCP/IP devices can route Ethernet VSCP traffic to remote locations as VSCP Ethernet is
always will stay behind a router. This is an extra security that prevent unauthorized use
of the device from outside of a router.
All VSCP modules contains information of there own setup, manual, hardware
version, manufacturer etc. You just ask the module for the information you need
and you will get it.
When they are started up they have a default
functionality that often is all that is needed to get a working setup. If the
module have something to report it will send you an event and if it is setup to
react on a certain type of event it will do it's work when you send event(s) to it.
